On Friday the 28th of March a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar. The impact caused significant damage across the nation and into surrounding countries including Thailand. Please see initial advice from David and Stacie Coates as well as a note from one of our partners Dr. TT.
Transform the Nations is seeking to raise support for our people, schools and communities by way of an appeal.
29th March 2025
Dear Friends,
Transform the Nations have partnerships in Myanmar with 8 schools.
Fortunately, at this moment it appears these schools have not received major damage.
There are currently no reports of injury in our immediate circle. However, we do partner with Gospel for Myanmar (GfM), who administer a Covenant affiliated school and one of our TtN workers, Bron Bray is the Principal of that school.
We have been in touch with the General Secretary of GfM and this is his response.

This country has endured years of civil war and there have been millions displaced by it. We are now feeling compassion for the people who have now lost even more.
To date the death toll is 144 and is expected to rise as many buildings in Mandalay, Myanmar’s largest city, have been hit badly with the epicentre very close to the city..
We are keen to assist with the relief work in Myanmar and are extending an invitation to all who are concerned about the people of Myanmar. Many are already suffering because of the Civil War and the advice from the deposed government representatives, is that we fund the relief through trusted organisations and not through the military government, who have a reputation of politicising relief.
We trust the leadership of GFM and are confident that they will provide relief to whoever needs it without partiality.
They have good governance and accounting policies.

Early Reports:
1.From David & Stacie: Hello Friends of the Covenant-Crossroad Ministry,
Many will have seen or heard reports of the 7.7 scale earthquake yesterday in Myanmar and Thailand.
Some folk have been asking if the school communities have been impacted. Both James (in Yangon) and Michael (in MaeSot) - and several other staff also - have been in touch. Information is slowly coming out but at this stage there are thankfully no reports of casualties in the school communities. There is damage to school buildings, to some homes and infrastructure necessitating temporary school closures, and more widespread disruption to routine and normal life, understandably.
Please pray for all who are affected.
Life had significant challenges and privations for the Myanmar people- now this😕.
But we know God remains in control.
In His Service
David and Stacie Coates
